X-Rite Pantone to unveil Ci4200 spectro, show other quality assurance tools for color at Control 2013 in Stuttgart

REGENSDORF, Switzerland, April 18, 2013 - X-Rite GmbH with its wholly owned subsidiary Pantone will unveil its new Ci4200 mini-benchtop spectrophotometer at Control 2013 in Stuttgart, Germany as a precise and affordable solution for companies that want to establish or improve color quality assurance programs in industrial settings.

The Ci4200 is an easy-to-use, 31-point spherical spectrophotometer that manufacturers can harness quickly to measure the colors of coatings, textiles, plastics and other materials to reduce rejection rates and scrap, improve speed to market and enhance their positions in supply chains worldwide.

Attendees of Control 2013 being held from 14 to 17 May can see demonstrations of the Ci4200 and other color measurement and control technologies at X-Rite's stand 1824 in Hall 1 of the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre. Pre-show information may be obtained by visiting www.xrite.com or writing at CEinsidesales@xrite.com .

With its attractive price point, the Ci4200 is particularly well suited for companies that want to improve on existing color measurement programs that currently rely on non-spectral devices or visual inspection pass/fail methods. Data generated by the Ci4200 can integrate seamlessly with historical databases of other X-Rite instruments.

The Ci4200 features:

-€¢ Accurate color measurement. The Ci4200 uses a 31-point color engine and precisely machined Spectalon sphere to measure colors in the 400 to 700 nm range, with an option to include calibrated UV illumination. With a correlated 60° gloss configuration, the Ci4200 gives specular and aspecular measurements.
-€¢ Flexibility in measurement. The Ci4200 can be rotated to measure test surfaces presented horizontally or vertically.
-€¢ Small footprint that conserves benchtop space.
-€¢ Potential connection with remote locations. When used with NetProfiler 3.0, the Ci4200 can be calibrated to a single virtual standard.
-€¢ Consistency with historical data.
-€¢ Integration with powerful software for industrial applications. The Ci4200 connects seamlessly with Color iQC, Color iMatch and Color iTextile software packages for immediate use.
-€¢ Window that provides clear view of 8mm measured target.

X-Rite also will be showing a series of multi-angle spectrophotometers for the measurement of effect coatings, the VS450 spectrophotometer for non-contact color and gloss measurement, the Color i7 benchtop spectrophotometer, SP family of handheld sphere spectrophotometers, RM200QC handheld spectrocolorimeter, Color iMatch software for colour formulation and the X-Color QC software for quality control

In addition, visitors can view demonstrations of the SpectraLight QC light booth that provides more accurate illumination than any other standard solution for finely controlled visual assessment of color. The new SPL QC booth makes it easy for customers to assess whether their products are meeting their customer's exacting specifications for color and appearance under daylight, incandescent, fluorescent and other illumination conditions.

Pantone will display samples and spectral data of its offerings in the PANTONE FASHION + HOME and PANTONE PLUS color systems. PANTONE FASHION + HOME offers 2,100 colors, which provides a precise way to select, specify, control and communicate color choices.
PANTONE PLUS includes solid colors, metallics, pastels and neons for a total of about 1,600 colors.

Pantone also will demonstrate how polypropylene PANTONE PLASTIC STANDARD CHIPS enable the color development process for plastics. Designers, manufacturers and specifiers can use the chips as a way to coordinate the colors of plastic products with different materials used in making finished goods and to build consistent marketplace presence with matching colors in packaging, advertising, collateral materials and the Web.
