Xylem's ebro brand join industry leader Spypach to develop a system for validating the sterilisation of endoscopes.

For almost 50 years, Xylem's ebro brand has been supplying instrumentation for measuring critical parameters such as temperature, pressure & humidity and today, ebro is recognized throughout the world as a leader in its field. From basic handheld devices such as the TLC 700 core thermometer providing an accuracy of 0.5°C to the precise TFX 430 instruments with PT 100 probe capable of measuring to 0.05 °C; temperature measurement not only performs a key HACCP role in the food industry but also finds itself part of GLP and GCP in pharmaceutical and medical applications.

ebro data loggers can measure every corner of an oven and may be used to validate DAC Universal and benchtop autoclaves according to ISO 17665/DIN 58929 as well as washer disinfectors within the health industry in accordance with ISO 15883. Additionally, the EBI 16 Bowie-Dick Test data logger kit provides a precise alternative to traditional "test strip" validation and as such, when combined with winlog.evaluation software, provides a far better audit trail for steam sterilisation processes within hospitals in compliance with ISO 17665, EN ISO 11140-4 and DIN EN 285.

More recently, ebro teamed up with spypach medical services to develop a system for validating the sterilisation of endoscopes, where ebro EBI 11 data loggers are combined with a dummy thermo-labile flexible gastrocope or bronchoscope to measure and evaluate the pressures and temperatures exerted inside an endoscope during cleaning to ensure proper sanitation.

Perishable samples including food, human blood or tissue and other sensitive materials must also be monitored during transport to ensure integrity and EBI 300 USB data loggers fulfil this need. Configuration is easily achieved via www.ebi300.com and a secure PDF report is simply generated by plugging the logger in to a PC.
