YOUNG AUTOMATION ENGINEER UP FOR COUNTY AWARD

Engineer from Northern Industrial shortlisted for award celebrating young talent in Lancashire

Northern Industrial, a leading global supplier of industrial automation parts and repairs, are excited to announce that Kieron Riding, one of their youngest employees, has been shortlisted for an award.

Kieron (pictured), who is an electronic engineer at the company, is a finalist in the manufacturing and engineering category at the Young 'Uns Awards. The awards celebrate the best in young entrepreneurial, professional and business talent that the Lancashire region has to offer, rewarding those aged 36 and under who are setting the pace in business.

Kieron began his career as an apprentice electronic engineer at Northern Industrial over two years ago, shortly after leaving school. He now repairs and services automation equipment, including variable speed drives, servos, PLCs and HMIs, for some of the company's major international customers and renowned manufacturers.

"We are extremely proud of Kieron's achievement and wish him the best of luck" stated David Lenehan, Managing Director at Northern Industrial. "Kieron has been an asset to the company since he began with us and his success has seen us expand our apprenticeship program to other departments as well as more engineers. We began an apprenticeship scheme to help us plug the skills gap we have found in automation, the fact that Kieron is already able to fault find and repair complex circuit board down to component level makes it clear to us that apprenticeships were the right way to go for us."

The awards take place at the Blackpool Winter Gardens on Thursday 20th October.
