Delta wins prestigious accolades

Delta has been selected for the 5th consecutive year as a member of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index in recognition for its sustainability management and in addition was named one of Best Taiwan Global Brands for the 5th consecutive year by the Taiwan Industrial Development Bureau for its innovative technology and products. The firm utilized these cutting-edge solutions for their newly opened Americas headquarters in Fremont, CA that is designed to meet LEED Platinum and net zero standards.The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes were launched in 1999 as the first global sustainability benchmarks. Delta was not only chosen as member of the DJSI for fifth consecutive year but was also chosen as a member of the DJSI Emerging Markets for the third consecutive year. In addition, Delta was ranked first among 45 leading companies in the Electronic Equipment, Instrument and Component sector.Delta fulfills its corporate mission in daily operations. In the past five years, Delta's high-efficiency products and solutions have contributed to a total savings of 14.8 billion kWh of electricity and a reduction of carbon emissions by about 7.9 Million tons of CO2e. The electricity intensity of Delta's major plants has decreased by 50% compared to 2009. Moreover, energy savings from Delta's 12 worldwide green buildings was as high as 13 million kWh in 2014.
The company was not only selected by the DJSI for its sustainable solutions but also for its dedication to corporate governance and responsibility. Delta has received the highest grade A++ companies for three consecutive years for its governance and has routinely received recognition for its codes of conduct and compliance as well for its labor practices.
Delta also garnered recognition in Taiwan by being named one of the Best Taiwan Global Brands with a 17% increase in brand value totaling $199 million, making it the only company with double-digit growth for the third consecutive year.
Ms. Shan-Shan Guo, Chief Brand Officer of Delta Electronics , "Delta has a unique value proposition and innovative technology and products. She further added, "Delta's accumulated energy saving solutions and practices across the world have become its unique brand assets." The company has pledged a further 30% reduction in electricity intensity by 2020.
The newly opened Americas headquarters incorporates Delta's leading sustainable solutions and products in order to adhere to LEED Platinum and net zero standards. The 180,000 square foot facility boasts a geothermal heating and cooling system that reduces HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) energy consumption by 60% compared to traditional systems. To meet net zero criteria, the building is powered by a 616kW solar system utilizing Delta's own solar inverters that have an energy conversion efficiency of up to 98.5 percent and is expected to generate over 1,000 MWh of electricity per year.
"Since 2005, all of Delta's new buildings around the world have been built to sustainable standards. In the past 10 years, we have commissioned the construction and renovation of 21 green buildings and will share our experiences with international audience in December, at this year's Conference of Parties, more commonly referenced to as the COP21," said Bruce Cheng, Delta's Founder and Honorary Chairman. "This aligns with the company's mission to provide innovative, clean, and energy-efficient solutions for a better tomorrow." During COP21, Delta will use its advanced "edge-blending" projection capabilities to exhibit its 21 green buildings inside the Grand Palais in Paris, France.
