Altra Industrial Motion set the stage for complete lifting systems at Stage|Set|Scenery exhibition

Altra Industrial Motion Corp. used this year's Stage|Set|Scenery exhibition in Berlin as an opportunity to promote three of the group's prestigious power transmission brands: Stromag, Bauer Gear Motor and Warner Electric. The brands' combined expertise allows Altra engineers to design and manufacture bespoke lifting and positioning equipment for stage applications, using high quality components that are designed to integrate for efficient, reliable performance.Cedric Gomez, Global Market Director for Vertical Systems, explains: "The combined engineering experience of Stromag, Bauer and Warner totals almost 200 years. Each brand has its own unique expertise and is regarded as a leader in its respective field. As part of the Altra Industrial Motion Corporation, we are able to provide a complete, packaged solution designed by engineers understand the capabilities of each brand.
"We were displaying a demonstration of the typical system that we design for stage applications on the stand which drew a lot of interest. Of course, our real strength lies in our ability to engineer unique systems to meet the needs of our customers."
The lifting systems on display was a winch package that uses components from each of the three brands. The winch is driven by a geared motor from Bauer with stopping power provided by an electromagnetic brake with manual release from Warner Electric. Stromag provides a limit switch, which enables the winch position to be controlled with extremely high accuracy.
Cedric continues: "The exhibition stand was busy throughout the show and visitors were able to speak to representatives of the individual brands, as well as application engineers who could provide detail on the total package solutions. For the reliable, efficient performance of theatre and stage equipment, Altra components can play an invisible but key role."
