ARI - PREDU and PREDEX valves put you in control of the pressure
01/03/2013 ARI Armaturen UK Ltd
ARI-Armaturen, worldwide leaders in the manufacture and supply of high quality process valves, has expanded its pressure regulating valve range with new variations of its trusted PREDU pressure reducing and PREDEX excess pressure regulating valves. This further extends ARI's 'one-stop-shop' philosophy offering a wide range of user benefits. The major advantage of both PREDU and PREDEX valves is their compact pillar-less design, which greatly facilitates pressure adjustments as there are no obstructions. The pillar-less design also simplifies maintenance and allows installation in confined spaces. Both ranges offer high flow capacity and are pressure balanced with a stem sealed by stainless steel bellows.
PREDU is a direct acting, pressure reducing valve that regulates a high inlet pressure, up to 16bar, to a smaller downstream pressure. A rolling diaphragm membrane in the actuator allows very sensitive pressure control.
PREDEX, on the other hand, is an excess pressure regulating valve used to control the upstream pressure, effectively opening when the upstream pressure rises over an adjusted set point or automatically closing if the upstream pressure decreases below the adjusted set point.
Applications for PREDU and PREDEX valves include reducing the pressure of steam, neutral gases, vapours and liquids in a variety of industries such as chemical and process engineering, plant construction, as well as general engineering and industry. More specifically, they have applications in laundries, commercial kitchens, the food industry, the timber industry, hospitals, power stations, district heating technology and shipbuilding.
Both ranges are available in grey cast iron, SG iron and cast steel in nominal sizes DN15 - DN150 (1" - 6"), PN16 - PN40, ANSI150 and ANSI300. Inlet pressure ranges are from 0.2 - 16bar and maximum differential pressure is 40bar (depending on nominal diameter). 5 exchangeable actuator sizes and 3 exchangeable spring sizes are available and optional extras include a soft seal plug, flow divider for noise reduction, Kvs reduction and secondary stem sealing
