Interactive Experience Will Showcase Automation Technologies and Software Solutions to Help Energy Operators Increase Operational Efficiency, Safety and Sustainability.
Global automation leader Emerson will showcase its automation technologies, software solutions and digital transformation strategies for the energy industry at ONS 2026, taking place August 24-27 in Stavanger, Norway. At Booth 9450 in Hall 9 at Stavanger Forum, Emerson will showcase an interactive experience highlighting its role across the oil and gas value chain – from exploration and production to midstream operations and beyond. Visitors will see how Emerson technologies connect processes, people and data to drive safer, more efficient and more sustainable operations.
A key focus will be how automation, software and data technologies are helping energy operators move toward more autonomous operations. Visitors will learn how remote monitoring, intelligent analytics and software-defined automation can support unmanned or partially unmanned facilities, enabling adaptive control strategies, faster decision-making and reduced operating costs. By exploring scenarios involving emissions reduction, energy management, hydrogen, carbon capture and automation, visitors will see how Emerson technologies connect across processes and facilities.
Delegates will also be able to see how Emerson supports its customers in navigating increasingly complex offshore oil and gas projects by delivering value across the entire project lifecycle. Combining its deep industry expertise with integrated lifecycle services, Emerson provides end-to-end global project execution – from consulting and design through to start-up, operations and ongoing support. Emerson will also demonstrate how its AI-enabled technologies, including intelligent field devices, edge computing and advanced analytics, unify upstream operations from reservoir to surface. By creating a continuous digital thread across subsurface engineering, drilling and production systems, Emerson helps operators eliminate information silos and automate decision-making. The result is a more proactive, data-driven operation that can reduce risk, accelerate time to first oil and maximise asset value across the full lifecycle.
Throughout the event, visitors can speak with Emerson experts and explore more than 20 technologies and solutions designed for offshore and energy applications. At the booth, visitors will be able to explore technologies designed to improve production performance, increase operational visibility and support safer, more autonomous energy operations.
Demonstrations at the Emerson booth will include the Adaptive Gas Lift System (AGLS), the world’s first retrievable electric gas lift system, which enables operators to remotely monitor and adjust gas lift valves without well intervention. By supporting continuous optimisation of well performance, the system can help increase production while reducing costly interventions.
Emerson will also showcase its latest flow measurement technologies, including the new Roxar™ Subsea Multiphase Flow Meter (pictured) alongside the field-proven Roxar 2600 Multiphase Flow Meter enhanced with the 5726 Multiphase Transmitter. Combining advanced sensors, software and proven measurement technologies, these solutions provide reliable oil, gas and water flow measurements across both subsea and topside production environments, helping operators improve reservoir management, optimise production and extend asset life.
AspenTech software solutions from Emerson will demonstrate how industrial software creates value across the energy value chain. AspenTech Subsurface Intelligence™ (ASI) is an AI-powered platform designed to help upstream energy companies make faster and more confident subsurface decisions. Built on data organised according to the vendor-neutral Open Subsurface Data Universe (OSDU) standard for the energy industry and backed by proven subsurface algorithms, ASI combines domain-specific expertise with agentic and generative AI to automate high-value workflows and turn complex data into actionable insights. It enables seamless collaboration across the subsurface lifecycle, helping organisations to reduce uncertainty, optimise production and shorten project timelines.
Visitors can also learn how operational data can be securely moved beyond the control system through the DeltaV™ Edge Environment, enabling enterprise-wide dashboards, analytics and reporting while maintaining system isolation. Together with DeltaV Ethernet-APL technology, which extends Ethernet connectivity directly into the process environment, these solutions provide a scalable foundation for digital transformation and future-ready automation architectures.
The booth will also feature Fisher™ technologies designed to improve process performance and reliability in demanding applications. These include Vee-Ball™ valves with Whisper NXV™ trim and WhisperTube™ attenuators for reducing aerodynamic noise in gas and vapour services, the lightweight titanium FIELDVUE™ DVC7K Digital Valve Controller for harsh operating environments, and Optimized Antisurge Control Valves engineered to protect critical compressors from failure and unplanned shutdowns.
Additional instrumentation technologies on display will include radar, Coriolis and ultrasonic flow measurement devices, hydrogen flame and gas detection systems, and pressure, temperature and gas analysis solutions that help operators improve process safety, optimise operations and support emissions reduction initiatives.
Sean Saul, Emerson’s Vice President of DeltaV Platform Marketing, will be among the guest speakers at the ONS Strategic Conference during the event. On Tuesday, August 25, Sean, who is responsible for leading the overall product direction for the DeltaV Distributed Control System and Safety Instrumented System platforms. will be taking part in a roundtable discussion titled ‘AI and future energy need?’, from 10-11 am in the Clarion Hotel Energy, Energy Hall, Room 1. Sean and his fellow participants will discuss whether AI is set to become a long?term driver of rising global electricity demand, or whether innovation, both within AI and enabled by AI, will lead to a more efficient and sustainable energy future.
