SPX and McJunkin Red Man Enter into Distribution Agreement for M&J Valve

SPX, a leading supplier of flow technology solutions, has signed an agreement with McJunkin Red Man Corporation to distribute and stock in inventory SPX's M&J Valve brand products in the United States. McJunkin Red Man is the U.S. subsidiary of MRC Global Inc., the largest global distributor of pipe, valves and fittings to the energy industry. With this agreement, McJunkin Red Man will initially stock the Houston-manufactured M&J Valve API 6D through-conduit slab and expanding gate products in sizes up to 24" and pressures up to class 600. This stock will allow customers to quickly obtain M&J products to fulfill shorter delivery lead times than standard requirements by going through McJunkin Red Man's extensive branch network.

SPX's M&J Valve brand is one of the leading brands in North America for hydrocarbon liquid pipeline applications. SPX, through the M&J Valve brand, has over four decades of experience in the development, manufacture and service and repair of valve products to the hydrocarbon pipeline, storage and distribution market segment. M&J Valves are particularly suited for customers who seek a proven, time-tested, highly reliable, minimal maintenance shut off device in their pipeline. The technology behind the M&J Valve brand culminates from years of continuous product development and improvement and detailed knowledge, experience and understanding of liquid, geothermal and gas pipeline flow control applications.

McJunkin Red Man offers one of the most extensive ranges of pipe, valve, fitting and automation in the U.S. and supports the daily and project requirements for U.S. midstream customers. The company maintains integrated service and supply contracts with other major oil and gas end users. Combining the inventory availability of the M&J Valve brand with McJunkin Red Man's automation services will expand customer service levels.

John Carte, Vice President of Valves and Automation of MRC Global, commented, "This distribution agreement makes a great deal of sense to all parties involved. We have a strong customer base in the midstream hydrocarbon liquid market where we believe the high quality product offering from M&J Valve will be well received. Customers can benefit from shorter delivery times, the efficiency of our 'one stop shop' product portfolio and support from our extensive sales and service network."

McJunkin Red Man has branches and regional distribution centers throughout the U.S. and MRC Global has more than 400 service locations supporting customers in over 40 countries. Timely, reliable delivery of products is supported by expert technical support and inventory management expertise. The agreement also enables customers to automate the M&J Valve product offering in McJunkin Red Man's automation centers.

Jim Stanczak, Vice President of Oil & Gas Market & Business Development of SPX, said, "This is a positive move for SPX and supports our continual effort to ensure we deliver not only leading, innovative technology solutions but the best sales and service solution we can to our customers."
